Raglan Shire Artwalk 2013 - Second Life

Once again I am organizing this enormous and fabulous art festival in Second Life, my fifth time as Artwalk Director. Looking forward to the massive outpouring of creativity that this festival always brings.

Raglan Shire is hosting its 8th ArtWalk in May 2013. A 3-week long, multi-sim art festival, it is one of the art highlights of SL. Residents of Second Life may show their artwork during this time.  Reproductions of RL artwork (see definition in the requirements online) that can be imported and put on a prim are encouraged, along with SL artwork including virtual photography and sculpture.

Each year we have had over 100 artist participants exhibiting in spaces over 2 sims. This year, we hope for a good turnout and will include space in the vast center park of Raglan Shire, Heron Shire forest, and in other sims as needed. 2D artwork will be displayed along hedgerows around Raglan Shire and sculptures on Heron Shire sims. The Raglan Shire Sim Cluster is PG. Artworks need to fit PG standards.

This sculpture was created for the upcoming "Elysium" theme for InWorldz Dreamz & Visionz Art Fest. Artists will present their visions of the afterlife. "Elysium" opens Friday March 22, 2013, on the InWorldz grid.

InWorldz Art Shines at SXSW

There is a wonderful overview by Cyberloom of the Art & Literature exhibition sim for InWorldz exhibition at SXSW last week.  I was please to be mentioned and have a detail picture of one of my works shown, along with some of my very favorite artists, Sy Celina, soror nishi and Alizarin Goldflake.

Moved & Expanded - Gallery Freenote

Now with the whole Dreamsinger sim available for my art, I have moved my 2D gallery to the sky above Dreamsinger. It includes representations of my RL digital fine art, along with much more of my virtual photography. Part of the new Gallery Freenote shows the sculptures of Wolf Hartnell. And I now have a guest gallery that will feature different artists over time. Come enjoy the new gallery!

Gallery Freenote Relocating to InWorldz

Hello Dear Friends! In two weeks, I am closing my Second LifeGallery.  I am creating all my works over in InWorldz now and have huge space to both create and to show my work, and its very expensive in SL. It seems ridiculous to keep maintaining such an expensive space when all my creative energy is being funneled on another grid for much less expense and much more creative freedom.  So if you want one last visit to Gallery Freenote in SL, now is the time.

Please visit Gallery Freenote in InWorldz and my sculpture garden SIM (yes a whole sim) Dreamsinger Sculpture Isle in the InWorldz grid. Its an exciting place for artists, and an exciting time there as the grid will come out of beta around the first of the year.

I will continue to exhibit in other festivals and galleries in SL, but my main location will now be InWorldz. I have an exhibiton coming in March 2013 at Mathilde Vhargon's Two Shores Gallery in SL.

The holiday I'm Dreaming Art Fest is on in InWorldz. We were asked to do something on a holiday theme. When all one's immediate family has passed away, there is a sadness at the holidays about that. With this work, the white box can stand alone as a piece, and that part will be available for sale.

Second annual exhibit of 2D art from InWorldz Artists. This was my exhibit last month. I showed a selection of my digital abstracts from Cellandra Zon's Lightdancer performances. I was awarded a tie in First Place in the category of Photography, Digital & Fractual Art (DigitalArts).

Grand Opening - Dreamsinger Sculpture Isle

Dreamsinger Sculpture Isle is a new, sim-sized natural setting featuring the virtual sculptures of Teal Freenote. Teal has been creating art in virtual worlds for five years. She began with Gallery Freenote in Second Life® in 2008 and extended and added to that with Gallery Freenote in InWorldz™ in 2010. She has created all of her sculptures in InWorldz™ since that time.

The Grand Opening will take place on October 21, 2012, from noon to 2 pm PDT/virtual time at Gallery Freenote in InWorldz™ with live music by Ichie Kamachi and Ganjo Mokeev. Teal Freenote's virtual sculpture derives primarily from dream and symbolic imagery around emotional and spiritual feelings, and lately is branching out to include more abstract explorations of philosphical and aesthetic principles. The central installation is "Gift of the Goddess", is a large meditation on creativity and the feminine. Dreamsinger Isle provides a setting to wander, explore, and contemplate the art in a beautiful, natural environment. It will remain  open on an ongoing basis to visitors, with new sculptures added in the future.
